The Jayson Colin Bursary

By Sarah-Lynn Pauléus

A young 26 years old man attended Emmanuel Christian School and graduated in June 2014. On August 10, 2022, a shooting broke out in the courtyard of a Montreal North high school. Several projectiles hit Jayson Colin, and unfortunately, he passed away. To honor his memory, his former school established a scholarship.

This scholarship will allow several children who do not have the means to attend a private establishment in order to have access to a higher level of education. In fact, a student was able to take advantage of it in2023.

In the fall of 2022, two events were held in his honor to raise funds for this scholarship. Emmanuel Christian School organized a walkathon against violence and a hockey day in honor of Jayson, set up by Alex Teck, Goaltending was held. The walkathon is now a yearly event at our school.

Joyful, contagious smile, kindness, and loving are just some of the wonderful qualities among many to describe the person that Jayson Colin was. Jayson, you will always make a difference. If you would like to donate to the scholarship, please click on donate and make a difference.
